Welcome to Twilight Wars! If you're looking to get your fix of Twilight Imperium, you've come to the right place! As more and more players continue to join the race to claim the throne of Mecatol Rex and secure their place as ruler of the galaxy, we want Twilight Wars to remain fun, fair, and welcoming for everyone. To this end, all players are expected to carefully read and abide by these community guidelines. Thank you for helping us maintain a fun and respectful community!

Code of Conduct

1. Do not promote or engage in harassment of other players.

   This includes any type of harassing behavior, including bullying and sexual harassment. This also includes any form of speech that attacks another person or group of people based on gender, sex, race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation. Any attempt to evade bans, blocks, or any other features available to players within Twilight Wars that can be used to avoid interactions with players of their choosing is also considered a type of harassment.

2. Do not use inappropriate content.

   This includes content such as usernames, game names, and profile pictures that depict violence, sexually explicit content, or other types of abusive or hateful content.

3. Do not cheat.

   This includes the creation or use of multiple accounts by a single player with the intention of deceiving others or gaining an advantage in a game.

4. Do not exploit bugs.

   As with any piece of software, bugs do exist in our software which sometimes allow the rules of the game to be bypassed or broken. While we make our best effort to quickly fix any bug that is brought to our attention, bugs may exist at any given time. While it is reasonable to assume that players may stumble upon bugs previously unknown to them, we do not tolerate players who knowingly and repeatedly exploit a bug.

5. Do not spam or submit false reports.

   We expect players to use these guidelines to know when they should submit a report against another player.

Enforcement Policy

When a player does not follow the rules outlined in our Code of Conduct, we may take action against that player. We provide our Enforcement Policy here to make the penalties and the timeline of each penalty as consistent and transparent as possible to all players. In most scenarios, the following steps will be taken.

1^st offense: The player will receive a warning.

2^nd offense: The player's account will be restricted for 1 month during which time they will be prohibited from creating or joining new games.

3^rd offense: The player will be suspended for 1 month during which time they will not be able to access any new or ongoing games.

4^th offense: The player will be permanently banned.

When a player commits an offense, they will receive a notification through our in-app notifications informing them of the action that was taken and the reason why that action was taken.

While we will attempt to follow the protocol outlined above as consistently as possible, every case is unique. We therefore reserve the right to apply different protocols under extreme circumstances. For example, when a player exhibits particularly egregious behavior, in terms of the type or frequency of the behavior, we may choose to expedite this process by skipping one or more of the usual steps described above.

Appeals

If you believe an action was taken in error, you may contact us to submit an appeal. Appeals will be reviewed and acted upon based on the discretion of our moderators. Repeated or abusive appeals may result in further action.
